Week 35- 1/18-24
Jan 21st  Michael went to his follow-up appointment yesterday with the surgeon.  He told us the biopsy came back
completely cancer free!  Michael can begin walking and swimming all he wants.  In 3 weeks he can start light
jogging and in 6 weeks, he can lift light weights and running.  After that, he said to push himself as much as his
body will allow.  Obviously the more weight and muscle he puts on...the better he will feel and then will be able to
get back on track!

I have an appointment Monday afternoon to see if the doctors can turn Hannah.  The procedure is called and
external version.  Basically, they do an ultrasound to re-confirm she is breech.  They give you an IV with a drug
that is a muscle relaxant (it has the awful side-effect of making you shake and jumpy like adrenaline).  Then they
basically start pushing her around.  It is evidently painful as described by some, and extreme discomfort as
described by others.  I am not wanting to do this, but the surgeon wants me to try it before we do a c-section.  She
swore to me if I wanted to quit because it hurts too much, that they will.  They can't give you any pain meds while
they do this procedure, so pray that it doesn't hurt too bad and that it actually works.  It only has an average
success rate of 50% and even if it does work, there is a chance she could then turn herself back over before she
is born.  I would hate to go through this and have that happen.  I want it to work though because then I won't have
to have any surgery (which I have never had).

Michael has another appointment with the oncologist on the 31st.  We are hoping that they don't want to do any
radiation treatments.  The poor guy has been through enough already.  I would be nice for him to start his training
with our friend Brady, an Iron-man triathlete.  He is one of the few US triathalon trainers.  Michael is excited about
getting going.

Jan 23rd  It was a disappointing day today.  We went to the Dr. appointment to try to do the version described
above.   There was some kind of scheduling error.  They told me it was today at 1:30, but when they put it in the
computer, they did it for next Monday at 1:30.  I am 37 weeks now, which is the optimal time for trying this
procedure.  I will be 38 weeks when they end up trying it next week.  I am waiting for a call from the Dr because I
have more questions since this happened.  For instance, do the chances of it working lesson by doing it at 38
weeks as opposed to 37 weeks?  Are there more risks because she is a week bigger?  Should we even try it or just
give in and do the scheduled c-section?  Like I said before...we do nothing without drama.

This is me in early Dec at Chris'
surprise birthday party.  I am even
bigger now...I need to get someone to
take another side view for you.  Yeah!
I better do it quick before she arrives!!!
