Michael & Dr. Pan - Jan 2006
Feb 6th-  Click on the picture above of Michael and Dr. Pan to
see it better.  This was taken at Michael's last appointment with
Dr. Pan.  He won't see him again for 3 months!

Nothing happening still with me...waiting is driving us all crazy.
It's hard to plan anything!  We know that she is big for her
age...last week was close to 8 lbs...so this week probably at or a
little above 8 lbs.  I have tons of pre-labor (a Dr. at Kaiser told
us to call it that because false labor is so depressing!).

I decided to order a rocking chair tonight.  Hopefully it will get
here before she is born (but if she is born first, I am not going to
complain!).

Michael has 2 more weeks and then he can start doing some
jogging and swimming.  Our friend is looking forward to training
Michael and getting him back into shape.  I am looking forward
to him getting up at a normal time and getting back into a normal
schedule.  I told him that he has to start working a few hours a
week at The Pond Shack and then should eventually see about
getting a full-time job somewhere doing something he likes.  He
also wants to take so photography classes, so I need to look into
that for him and find out where he can do that.  Maybe I can find
some summer courses at a community college for him.
Michael made this video for all of you
the other night.  He did a great job on
it and is very proud of it.  I hope you
enjoy it.  (If it doesn't play, let me know
and I can email it to you or send it to
you on a disk.)
Chris took these pictures of me tonight.  I look awful!!!!  I can't wait to have her!!!  I walk like a penguin (which
Chris loves copying and pointing out)...I roll over in bed like a beached whale (which Chris refers to as "the
rolley-polley").  He laughs when he says it...he says to make me laugh.  Depends on what day he is teasing me
though as to whether I laugh or cry!  Most days I can laugh.  I have lost nearly 20 pounds being pregnant though,
so can't wait to see where I end up after she is born!  After I look at these pictures, I think "no wonder it hurts to
walk!"

Feb 13th  Hannah's due date has came and went!  Can you believe her?  I can...figures!  Anyway.  I had my
appointment this morning.  Here's the news and the plan:

I am dilated 1 1/2 cm.  I have been having contractions since about 3 am last Friday morning.  The Dr. wants me to
come see her Thursday morning and if I am dilated  little more (hopefully around 3 cm), then Thursday night, she
will induce me at the hospital.  She is on call Thursday night from 8 pm to 8 am the next day.  She wants to wait a
little more cause if she gave me pitocin (the drug to induce labor) today, she is afraid it wouldn't work and I would
end up being there for no reason.  So, if I dilate a bit more, then it will work better.

Now, of course, I could just continue to have contractions and they could get closer and closer on their own and it
could happen before Thursday as well...that's what I am hoping for!  I will keep you all posted!

Feb 16th  I was still only dilated to 1 1/2 cm.  Even though the contractions have still been coming.  So, she didn't
want to do the induction today.  She has a friend that is working on Sunday, so she called her.  That Dr. said she
felt very comfortable doing the induction on Sunday because then I am a full week overdue.  So...we go in Sunday
morning.  I am very tired and worn out.  I hope it actually happens.

Feb 18th  Well...it's 9 pm and so far everything is still a go for tomorrow morning.  We are getting more and more
excited about it.  We will take pictures of Hannah and get them on here as soon as we can.  Thanks for everyone
that is praying for us.  We appreciate it as always!

Feb 21st!!!  She is here!!!  She is also home now!  I won't tell you all the details, but basically, the started the
induction at 10:45 am on Sunday.  Chris and my friend Jo Anna were there.  I reached 6 cm's fairly quickly
(although I had no real sense of time).  Then...got stuck for what seemed like forever.  I had an epidural and if
failed at one point.  I was on pitocin and the contractions were coming one on top of another and they were off the
charts as far as how hard they were.  They had to give me a medicine to stop the contractions and give Hannah
and me a break.  I wasn't handling the pain and Hannah's heartrate dropped way down.  They redid the epidural
and it worked for awhile, but then they think I actually got used to the medicine and it wasn't working again.
Luckily, I suddenly went from 7 to 10 and once the pushing started, she was born within about 15 minutes.

Here are some pictures of her.  I haven't slept more than a couple of hours over the last couple of days.  She is
feeding really well, but every couple of hours.  She sleeps well for Chris, but doesn't stay asleep long.  She is very
aware and moving around all the time.  She is a sweet baby.  Hopefully she will start sleeping a little longer in
between feedings to give me a bit of a break to catch up on sleep!  Wishful thinking probably.
